Introduction

IDENTITY GUARD® is a service of Intersections, Inc., based in Chantilly, Virginia. Intersections, Inc. formed in May, 1995 and has been listed with the Better Business Bureau since July, 1996. The BBB website lists thirteen alternate names for Intersections, Inc, and rates them as A+.

IDENTITY GUARD offers four levels of personal protection from the danger of identity theft. Ranging in cost from $4.99 to $17.99 per month, IDENTITY GUARD’s services cover your ID protection needs on several fronts.

Four Levels of Coverage

The most basic level of coverage, called Basic ProtectionSM, provides $1 million of ID theft insurance, ID Theft assistance through ITAC, Internet surveillance, lost wallet protection and online financial tools that allow you to analyze your credit and gain insight into your financial future.

The second level, Watchful Eye®, has a $2,500.00 ID theft insurance policy, and adds access to one credit score per quarter, daily monitoring of your credit report, and quarterly credit updates.

Extra Caution®, the next level up, raises the insurance to $1 million, and provides access to all three credit scores.

The highest level, Total ProtectionSM, adds a public record report and monitoring, ID Vault, Mobile Lockbox, PrivacyProtect and the ZoneAlarm® Internet security suite.

Advanced Feature Details

The added features of the Total ProtectionSM package warrant some extra attention. They are designed to protect you while you conduct your online activities.

• ID Vault provides you a way to store your usernames and passwords in an encrypted database.
• Mobile Lockbox is an online, secure storage service which allows you to store and retrieve you data from IDENTITY GUARD’s secure servers.
• PrivacyProtect encrypts your online connections at home or on the go.
• ZoneAlarm® is an anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall package for your computer.

Special Offers

IDENTITY GUARD offers a couple of specials to get you to sign up. You can sign up for Total Protection for three weeks for only $3.00. You get all three credit scores, credit reports and all the features of the Total Protection package. You can call to cancel at any time, and if you do not cancel, you will be billed the normal $17.99 per month from that point on.

iDcheckup is a second way to try out Total Protection. For two weeks you are signed up for free. After two weeks, unless you call to cancel, you will be billed the $17.99 monthly charge for Total Protection. You can get your scores, reports and the risk assessment for free if you call to cancel before the end of the second week.
